Professional Workshop ‘ILLEGAL’ PASTELS with Stuart Whitelaw
Sat, 08 Aug
|Malua Bay Community Hall
In this 1 day workshop we will explore using pastels in different ways, using a clear acrylic medium and brushes to move the pigment on the canvas . The end result can look similar to oil paints as it consists of pigments suspended in a clear medium. You can also create washes for a watercolour feel

About the event
Your pastels become more akin to a ‘pigment delivery’ system, although the drawn mark
can be retained by drawing into wet medium on the canvas.
The finished work is essentially an acrylic surface and can be hung without a glass
covering.
I also frequently incorporate charcoal (pencil or compressed stick) into the works as well.
